I decided to make a full squad of Thermite Lancers Using extra gamebox plastics. How would one go about doing this? I really need to know about making the lance's head(without using green stuff) Using this pic as a guide for It's shape

I think greenstuff would be the easiest solution. Otherwise, try to get some cocktail picks. Their heads sometimes have the right shape.

Dude, I said w/o green stuff.

i don't much care for that protype model of th ethermite lance, it doesn't make much sense imo; why would it have a blade on it?

what i would do would be to get some brass wire (hobby shop) or any other kind of stiff wire for the handle and then go to the craft store (in the US, Michaels is the sort i mean) and look at their bead collection. they've got all kinds of beads for lord-knows-what reason but something plain and cylindrical would look good.

i think the look i would shoot for would be the tips of the thermite spears on the exo suits.

Templar - How about brown stuff then?

Don't you think it is a bit much to ask people for ideas on how to do something that you'd like to do, but demand they disregard the most obvious, quickest way?

Now, really seriously... I'd do ONE in plastic bitz and greenstuff, then make a cast of it... you could make copies ad naseum...

Dude, I said w/o green stuff.

I got that from your post, that's why I suggested the Cocktail picks.

But still, Greenstuff or something similar would save you lots of trouble IMO.

In the end it's your desicion - share a picture with us, when you're done.

I bought a bunch of vaguely egg-looking things that look just like the pic in the forcebook. They might be a bit large, but the shape is perfect. Thanks for the input! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif ph34r.gif

One of my friend use the following method :

1/ Take a cocktail pike or metal pike use in modelism shop
2/ Glue a oval plastic or wood perl at one the end of the pike. This perl is used by little girl to create fantasy jewel
3/ Cut the grip of plastic combat blade
4/ Glue the cutted combat blade along the perl

I found the fig to be okay Bill, after all its better than nothing.

When Ulrik and I first tried to make a conversion we simply used a bog standard legionnaire and a Thermite lance from a sandrunner, seemed to work okay.

Then we had our very, very very alcoholic trip up to visit you, or the 'other' company as you were then, we managed to aquire a full 15 man squad of those mini's biggrin.gif

Still hunting for some backpacks and shileds however, so if you are going to salute and have some spare..........? rolleyes.gif

As for what happened on our trip to edinburgh then maybe thats a story for another day over a beer, all i'll say is that we thought we crossed the 'river' on our way home. blink.gif
