well done cap.
<round of applause> it is, however possible that PRIME was only getting weapon data to eliminate th K's themselves, meaning its best bluff is also its most dangerous enemy. what if the K's somehow made the tripartite powers discover (because a split alliance is much less powerful than a whole one) PRIME's deception. it is entirley possible |

but how would the K's do that? ... as "officially" there is no contact with humanoid kind without destruction or assimilation. |

well done cap. <round of applause> it is, however possible that PRIME was only getting weapon data to eliminate th K's themselves, meaning its best bluff is also its most dangerous enemy. what if the K's somehow made the tripartite powers discover (because a split alliance is much less powerful than a whole one) PRIME's deception. it is entirley possible It's plausible that the Koralon were the original targets of the Syntha weapons tests, but it doesn't explain the aggressive posture they took against the other Tripartite powers and VASA. As for the Koralon trying to stick a wedge between the powers, I don't think that's entirely necessary. There is enough antipathy and centuries of ill-feeling between the powers at present, without them needing to uncover Prime's deception. A danger of trying this tactic is that some enterprising young human discovers the Koralon link to the plot, which would only work to re-unify the Tripartite powers against the Koralon again. The only reason that the Koralon have not yet been ousted from the systems of Pan-Humanic Space is the fractious and disorganised nature of humans. A Junker colony might stage a major raid on a neighbouring Viridian colony, even when they know that the Koralon are only a system away. Their reasoning would be that if the Viridians were strong enough to repel them, they would be able to repel the Koralon. Otherwise, the resources the Junkers carry off would only reinforce the Junker colony against the inevitable Koralon invasion. They would do this rather than ally with the Viridians, as raids are far easier and have better short-term outcomes. Captain Hesperus |

however, it has been theorised that the only reason mankind stood up against the Koralon threat was BECAUSE of the perpetual state of war, they are hardened by battle, always ready for an enemy raid and they don't trust anyone.
to the koralon, man must seem a more fearsome and terrifying enemy than any of the billions of races they have assimilated , they've formed the perfect shield for the incursion, the factions hate each other enough so as not to get too close to the other (which would result in total assimilation) while not being totally opposed (weakening them significantly) . The continual raids mean the weakest die, meaning only the smartest, best shots or the most physically powerful survive. but yeah. here's a thought, could the K's create a hybrd that looked just like it's former self ('The Thing' style). |

In theory, the old "thing" styles are the current incantation, they just look different. If they did create the "old" style, itd be a seperate entity on its own...and would be rather cool, imo |

The continual raids mean the weakest die, meaning only the smartest, best shots or the most physically powerful survive. ...After smashing the best of their main force in disposing of the opposing faction, in essence doing half the Koralon's job for them. It's not a case of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend', more 'your enemy's enemy is not a friend, but a later threat to deal with'. It's for this reason that the Koralon have made such in-roads into Pan-Humanic space. If VASA had managed to totally unite the other Tripartite powers, the Koralon would have been repelled or exterminated before they had even started developing their own ranged weaponry.
