Hi folks!
After skyguy kicked off the discussion about ideas for fresh scenarios and the wealth of suggestions put out, I decided to compile them all together in one document for convenience. I've started this thread to discuss this pack separately from the main thread, so that any feedback and suggestions don't derail the original discussion. edit: Files removed, finished product on its way soon. Looks good, I like to have things like this and even more so when they share the style of the rule books etc. I look forward to giving them a go and more being added.
Great work! |

This is awesome!!
I'm printing it out ASAP. the experience system is a good idea, I love making models have more Personality, so that they arn't just troops, but people, but as models went up in CAL, surely you'd need more CAL 0 troops? also, this wouldn't work with androsynths, thermite bombers and hybrids, in the case of the hybrids and syntha, they don't learn being ether too stupid (in the hybrid's case) or programmed to do only one thing. but yeah. brill plan though some more ideas \/ what about CAL 3s becoming cammand models after, say 500 pts of xp? and special troops, like the afore-mentioned triad ninjas or viridian medics. just a few suggestions but yeah, Book=ACE This post has been edited by ChewburyJr: Jun 4 2009, 02:12 PM |

Thanks folks, glad you like 'em! I'll be bringing them along to the club next week for some playtesting of my own as well.
ChewburyJr: The campaign system will need a bit more work, I agree. The idea I set out is fine for a few linked games, and players could relax the CAL restrictions a little in return for having to carry over the same team to the next game. We could work out some kind of recruitment system for other campaign games, such as gaining a number of "credits" to spend on new units depending on victory/defeat, or holding territories for a map-based system etc. I like the alternative ideas - perhaps we could follow this up with a community supplement with new special rules, units and a fully fleshed out campaign system. |

ok eek my little biffy clyro lookalike, ive just getten in from the pub with the wife and had the quickest of scans at your work, may i say it looks damn professional and has recieved great feedback. as far as the INN goes this is the stuff that the fanzine craves. the fanzine is all about fans of the game generating and creating alt rules and scenarios and i would urge anyone out there to submit new stuff to saramin (contact me or saramin). the fanzine dies without support of the fans. anyone that is creative in any way no matter how small give it a go and get published. things maybe slow at the moment but the war still rages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks a good set of scenarios - I'll suggest them at my local store.
I'm pretty sure one of my opponents will want some variety. |

Man, this stuff looks good, really professional. I haven't played through any of the scenarios (not having an army in Germany, and also no opponents in the region), but they look like they'd be fun.

also, i've been using a good (if slightly morbid) special rule in all my games recently
very simple: dead models don't just fade away, they stay and count as cover when one dies, we roll a warhammer scatter dice (or a regular d10 - the number pointed up) and they fall over. we just use them as cover models killed by explosions don't count (well, yeah...) it works like this +1 per point of corpse's heavy armor (eg. toughness 4 +1 heavy armor would be a 9+ save) -1 per point of shooter's weapon's armor peircing. toughness----save 1----N/A 2----N/A 3----N/A 4----10+ 5----9+ 6----8+ 7----7+ 9----5+ 10----4+ it is stupid but fun no point in doing it with skull swams because they just splat when killed. cool, eh?
