Date: February 21st, 2009
Times: 10am-6pm
Location: 11 Hillside Crescent, Edinburgh, EH7 5EA
Cost: £2 or £5 for the Tournament; both include the event exclusive new Yokai model
Tournament £5 - in advance (we've found we get a 90%+ turnout with advance sales)
Convention £2 - on the door

[elg] is running a Urban Mammoth (UM) gathering on Saturday 21st February, with a focus on Urban War. The UM guys are supporting us in many ways including seminars, demo-ing, and manning a retail stand!
  • Free Yokai figure, including stats card for every attendee (pics below)
  • 300-point, 4-round UW tournament with standard Urban Mammoth prize support including medals and other treats. (The games are structured so competitors can take advantage of the Seminars and retail stand.)
  • Painting competition (Best Individual Model, Best Strike-Team (170-300 points), Best CLAU-Team (750 points))
  • Seminars for John Robertson & John Grant to discuss the creative process, their future plans, and to answer questions
  • Retail Stand including 3-for-2 on boxes and 4-for-3 on blisters!
  • Urban Mammoth's demo tables for Urban War
  • Bring & Battle 'open-play' tables (from Starter Strike-Teams to CLAU-Teams)
  • Studio Display of miniatures, artwork, and books.
  • A bar and chef (tbc) on-site!

We have sold 16 tournament tickets (as at 01 Feb 09), 'Convention' attendance will be payable on the day. Contact me with any questions, comments, or offers of help.

Accommodation is only minutes from the venue:

SYHA (Edinburgh Central)
B&B's (EH7 postcode)

Game On!

Andy

There's a travel lodge in haymarket if that helps.

Count me in for this. Probably not going for the tourney since I don't know the rules but I would appreciate a game against a more experienced player.

Hi Andy,

I move house the weekend before but I should hopefully get time off for good behaviour to at least pop over and see you guys/get in a wee pick up game if I have my figures bought and painted by then.

Look forward to seeing you again mate, and of course any guys going from these fine forums tongue.gif

Hope y'all can stay for a meal & drink afterwards. I think we'll be arranging something for the tournament players at any rate!

Cheers

Andy

PS Would be great to see the DWARF guys en masse Brian

Where is elg hosting the event? Any (lothian or first) buses that go directly there?

Andy

I think we have around 4-5 that are interested in coming through from St Aidans in Glasgow - do we need tickets even if we're not playing in the tournament?

We're still pretty new to the ruleset, so we're looking forward to seeing how things get done in a tourney setting.

Just down and round the corner from the playhouse mate (10 min walk at most). If I'm heading over we can meet up, pretty sure more of the DWARF guys will head over too.

I'll probably head along although I'll probably not be ready to take part in the tournament.
